My Professional Profile

BRIEF BIODATA

There are so many people in the world who never have the opportunity to pursue the career they love. I’m not one of them. I love what I do since started my career in 1985 in Kuala Lumpur after graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with a Bsc degree in Electronics. It never stop there, In 1995, I pursued my study in the UK for a MSc in Radio Frequency Communications Engineering at the School of Engineering, University of Bradford. Once again from 2001 to 2005 I was in the UK to study for a PhD in Organic Electronics at the Nanotechnology Research group, Sheffield Hallam University. I am so glad to be supervised by a team of dedicated professors:- Prof Asim Ray, Prof Alexey Nabok and Prof Aseel Hassan. I’m thrilled to say that I’ve learned so many from them who are trained professionals in hybrid organic-inorganic functional material field. Coming back from the UK, I designed and built a class 1000 cleanroom where my students work for their MSc and PhD research. Currently, I focus my research project in Renewable Energy especially in organic-inorganic nanocomposite solar photovoltaics fabrications and characterizations. I am also a chief researcher for an international project known as "Lithuania-UPSI solar PV project". This project is sponsored by BOD Solitek group Lithuania to study the performance of their new technology of glass/glass PV in tropical countries such as Malaysia. The main goal of the project is to increase the level of awareness among Malaysian regarding to CO2 gas emission. Apart from that, I also serves as a reviewer for several prestigious journals including the IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology (USA) and IET Circuit, Devices and Systems (UK).

Research Interests

ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS, ORGANIC ELECTRONICS, LOW FREQUENCY NOISE MEASUREMENT, CURRENT TRANSPORT MEASUREMENT IN HYBRID ORGANIC/INORGANIC THIN FILMS

I’ve mostly acquired skills through my education and research work experience. I’m definitely proud of the skills I’ve gained across the years, and lucky to have had the support to become a professional in my field. But what I’m most proud of is my perseverance through it all. My research interest is in the field of organic electronics with focusing in the utilizing organic and inorganic materials to form a novel functional nanocomposite material for photovoltaic application.
